One day, Medusa (who has entirely forgotten about being told what Valentine's Day is, and that a Certain Someone Forgot) finally decides that Lucifer Needs To Get Out More, and goes to Milliways to kidnap him.

Sam is very much not adverse to this kidnapping, possibly because Medusa is wearing a very pretty bodice.

Beyond Milliways' front door is an open area as would grace any farm; chickens in their house, a couple of goats stoped from their quest to eat the vegatables by a cunning wall, a shed and the peach-coloured wall of Medusa's own garden. There is another low building, too low to be anything but built partly under ground.

It's late afternoon, and actually fairly cool - autumn does that, even in North Africa.

And while she would give him a grand tour of the outside, she does have things cooking in the kitchen, so she leads him down some steps and around the corner. The kitchen is a large cavern, doubling as their main living space, and it is back up against the bathhouse. No sense in wasting heat, after all.

There is a large table in the middle, a working table, and it's a working kitchen for three people who love food and eat a lot.

"Welcome to my home."

Sam smiles, sitting on the table and swinging his legs as he looks around. "I like it."

Her smile lights up her face.

"Good."

Not that she is at all nervous about showing him her home, oh no.

"Well, you live here, so..." Sam reaches out to take her hand and pull her towards him for a kiss.

[mycursedface]

"...it's...still a cave?" But she lets herself be pulled and leans up into the kiss.

[necessary_child]

Sam kisses her thoroughly, but not for too long.

"Yeah, but it's your cave."

[mycursedface]

"Ah, and that makes all the difference." Still, she's smiling as she says it.

"This is pretty much where we...live. There are a few other really big caverns - one with the looms, another that opens out onto the seaside and another that we store all our...loot in."

Beat.

"That makes me sound like a pirate."

[necessary_child]

He grins at her chirpily. "Now you're getting it."

Sam laughs, playing with her hands. "We should get you a hat."

[mycursedface]

"With a bandana?"

[necessary_child]

He nods solemnly. "And maybe an eyepatch."

[mycursedface]

"No."

[necessary_child]

"But!"

[mycursedface]

"Do you have any idea how uncomfortable that would be with my snakes?"

[necessary_child]

Pout.

"You and your logic, Medusa."

[mycursedface]

"I'm sorry, my love, but you? Are sometimes so very, very weird."

Which is obviously the moment to go and check things, like pots simmering away on the fire and bread in the oven.

"And you love me for it, I know," he says smugly.

...Totally checking out the view from behind as she flits around the kitchen. Well, she's his girlfriend, it would be rude not to.

"Among other things."

And if her tone is slightly absent, the way she darts off to a line of little jars, takes one and opens it, and puts two pinches into the main pot explains everything.

"I know."

He sniffs. "What're you making?"

[mycursedface]

"Lamb. With things."

The pot - or rather, a larger-than-normal-tangine - is shifted into another section of the coals.

"It'll taste good."

[necessary_child]

"I know," he says again, and grins.

[mycursedface]

She smiles back.

"Another couple hours, I think. So." She walks back over and holds out her hand.

"Continue tour?"

[necessary_child]

Sam takes her hand with a smile, sliding down from the table.

"Lead on, fair one."

[mycursedface]

Tangling her fingers with his, she leads him past several storage-caverns, a larger one with a natural skylight that has been set up with looms to a cavern seemingly filled with light. The light comes from the fact that the outside wall is mostly gone. All that is left is a view of the Atlantic Ocean, set against a grey sky and brilliant sunlight.

Sam looks around himself curiously as they climb upwards, and when they reach the top he steps immediately towards the view.

"Wow," he says simply. "Very nice."

She grins at him.

"We fly in and out of here, mostly. It's easier. Also, prettier."

[necessary_child]

"Very pretty," Sam says, but he's looking at her.
