Medusa is sitting in a tree, jeans and sundress and hair in braids and no glasses, today. If anyone comes out here, she'll just...close her eyes or something of the like. She's in that kind of mood, contrary and a little out of sorts and have to be outside can't stay need to-

Only, she couldn't think of anything to do, so climbing the tree and watching the lake in the semi-twilight seemed the better alternative to pacing.

Or paying attention to the dull throb of a hangover.

Athena's mostly been outside ever since Eirene was turned into a mortal.

She's outside today as well, but freezes at the sight of Medusa. Her features are immediately drawn, lips in a thin line.

She doesn't say anything, though, preferring to stay in silence.

Athena's voice is the storm on the sea, the terrible crack of her father's thunder.

A little word, why. Three letters. And the Gorgon isn't the Gorgon as she says it, she's a girl. A girl beaten and raped and cursed and murdered and still stumbling about asking why?

If Medusa looks hard enough, there's a small crack in the stony grey of her eyes.

"You were --"

A cough.

"In the wrong place at the wrong time."

Athena simply shrugs.

There isn't much else for her to say.

"And...you shrug. That iss it? No, 'Ssorry, Medussa, for being party to your murder. Ssorry, Medussa, for not sstaying out of it. Ssorry, Medussa, for fucking up!"

Medusa jumps down from the tree and lands in front of her, snakes hissing and wings moving angrily..

"Pallasss Athene, you do not even have the conviction to sssstand up for your actionsss."

"If I did not think my actions were right, I would have left this place a long time ago."

Her hackles, so to speak, are raised.

"And if you think it's all my fault things got so fucked up, as you say, then you've got another fucking think coming."
