Medusa is a monster. Monsters are often hungry. Monsters have no issue with eating people based solely on sapience. Medusa, however, has been raised to be polite and listen to rules and it would be against said rules to eat anyone here, even if she's really hungry, which she rarely is because she doesn't want to be that tempted.

All of which is why Medusa is walking down the stairs into the Bar at an odd hour, to get food from the Bar without her stomach directing her to the live prey.

It's a shame his head was already ringing. It makes the alarm bells all the more unwelcome.

"You know?... Actually I think I'm fine. Yes. Really, Meda. Let's go... do something else?"

He has not extracted himself from his hiding place. His legs have gone terribley tense though.

Momentarily derailed, she smiles.

"And you are a silly puppy."

He can hear her smile, even if he can't see it.Progress.

"Um, thank you?"

Beat.

"I think."

She takes a deep breath and lets it out.

"She's still an idiot," she says, although the blind fury is gone.

"Meda..."

~~"You can't say things like that."~~

"the lady Demeter is.... I must have done something."

"No. You were just there."

".... I'm confused."

"It...it doesn't matter, darling."

"Oh."

"Alright."

If she says so.

"Do you want something to eat? Drink?"

....

He shudders.

"No, thank you."

"The water will help."

"Ohhhhhh."

"Um, then yes. Please." He slowly begins extracting himself from his hiding place. To say he looks horrible would be something of an understatement.

"...you look like shit," Medusa says, sounding like Stheno.

"Thank you, Meda."

It is a rare day that Cerberus manages a tone quite as dry as this. He blinks in the artificial light through bloodshot eyes.

A proud smile.

"You're learning."

Beat.

"Need help?"

(He's family, and a puppy)

There is the ghost of a smile, praise is always nice.

"Yes, please."

He is a lot taller than her, but despite her light bones, Medusa is used to flying in storms and waves, and that makes you strong.

Not to mention being short means that you are closer to the ground, which makes it easier to help someone to their feet.

"There you go."

"'nk you."

And whith that, Cerberus attempts to shake himself. This, as most can probably predict, is a mistake.

He gingerly raises a hand to his forehead.

"Ow."

"No sudden movements. Just, walk slowly, and don't...laugh or shake or run," she says, sighing.

Bloody Demeter.

Cerberus offers no resistance as he's led to the back of the bar. It's not as bright there, which is appreciated. He sets himself at a corner table with a groan.

She reaches out and gently runs her fingers through his hair.

"I'll get you some water. I'll be back."

He sits quietly, resting his chin on the backs of his hands. His eyes close at her hair ruffling and that faint smile plays across his features again. He will sit here until she returns, thank you.

Medusa comes back, cradling a bowl. Gently, gently, she puts it down on the table.

"Here you go."

It is with some trepidation that Cerberus laps at the bowl.

"Thank you, Meda."

It's a much more familiar tone this time; utterly sincere.

"You're family."

And that is that, as far as she is concerned. And family is why she stays with him until he's able to actually function.
